Bissell’s new InstaClean Pet is a good example of a company trying to tailor its products to specific problems that customers have around the home. In this case, they hope to tackle the thorny issue of pets, pet hair, and pet-related ‘incidents’.
It’s packed with features: It comes with components that can deal with stains embedded in your carpet, rugs, and it also works to clean your furnishings, skirtings, and upholstery.

Product Features & Technical Details
The Instaclean Pet has dimensions of 0.41 by 0.23 by 1.11 metres. It is lighter than its Bissell relatives, coming in at just six kilograms.
Powerful Brushes. It possesses the same rotating DirtLifter PowerBrushes also found in other Bissell carpet cleaners. The product has two cleaning rows of the said brushes, which loosen the dirt before removing it. Very effective.
All-Around Cleaner. Though smaller than its siblings and some competitors, you can also rely on the tool to get rid of stains, spots, and dirt from upholstery, stairs, skirtings, and hard-to-reach areas at home.
We appreciated the fact it is very easy to assemble. Sometimes it’s fun to sit and spend ages putting together some lego or Ikea furniture, but when our new carpet cleaners arrive we just want to get to work as fast as poss. So that’s a plus point.
In terms of cleaning, it does well. It’s not the most powerful machine out there (it’s only 450 Watts – check out our carpet cleaner comparison tables on the home page or our ultimate guide to Bissell cleaners) so it won’t be able to remove the very very toughest stains, but it’s going to get rid of 98% of what ails you and really brighten up your floors. It’s REALLY enough to clean up after your pesky pets, especially if you do it quickly after the incident.
It’s mobile and easy to store, and you can get into nooks and crannies with all the brushes and add-ons.
If you’ve got very large carpets this might not be the best option.
- Quick to set up
- Easy to manoeuvre
- Has two-in-one tank
- Single press operation
- Not for really stubborn stains (450 Watts)
- Not the best option for large homes
Who Should Buy This Product
This product is a good buy if you are looking for something to clean up after your pets have done something untoward. It’s great for smaller jobs, though you could use it as a primary carpet cleaner at a push.
Conclusion and Recommendation
If you have pets – buy this! If you need something more powerful or more suitable for doing big jobs, try Bissell’s StainPro 6 which has a similar design, but is more powerful (and heavier).
- 2 Rows of Rotating Brushes that loosen and remove embedded dirt from deep within your carpets
